Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. (Exodus 7:11 KJV).
When Pharaoh wanted answers, he brought in his own illusionists and they were perfect with copying the real miracle. When taking decisions at any level (either personal, corporate or group) do not fall for a sign just because it’s flashy, as we might be taking a package full of deception, as a sign from God.
The enemy doesn’t appear scary, he rather comes in spiritual, good and attractive disguising itself as Truth in order to mislead and ultimately destroy Man. In 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 TPT
((14) That doesn’t surprise us, for even Satan transforms himself to appear as an angel of light! [15] So it’s no wonder his servants also go about pretending to be ministers of righteousness. But in the end they will be exposed and get exactly what they deserve.) we see that satan along with his ministers mimic God.
Developing a sharp sense of spiritual discernment is non-negotiable for our growth, especially when our choices impact our family, friends, or team. Proverbs 4 vs 7(paraphrased ) says ……..and with all you have gotten get understanding – discernment, comprehension and interpretation.
In a world where culture is presently obsessed with seeking quick fixes for spouses, children, money, fame, promotion and all what have you, to lack discernment especially when seeking for a sign or when making decisions can lead one on a trip to destruction. However, no matter how satan’s deception plays out, there’s always a limit to his authority as Jesus Christ has already made a public show of him and nipped him in the bud, paving the way for believers to exercise their authority over him.
Discernment comes with the Peace of God which passes all human understanding. It will always reveal the Truth. I’ve also come to realize that nothing Satan gives comes with PEACE. Yes, you read it right!……none comes with PEACE! Referencing the scripture above, you’ll recall how desperate the enemy is, in him wanting to be like God. Which was what got him flung out of the presence of God in the first place. The end truly justifies the means. 2 Corinthians 11 vs 15 says -‘But in the end they will be exposed and get exactly what they deserve ‘.
In conclusion, we shouldn’t be blinded by signs or open doors that lack substance. Rather, we should be weary of the sign we seek for and in finding that sign, we should walk through it with discernment.
Action Point –
1) Seek for peace in that Sign.
Prayer:
Father, give me the spirit of discernment to differentiate what is good from bad, to recognize your peace in it and act accordingly in Jesus name. (Amen)
